This past weekend, hubby and I took a quick turnaround trip to Pinetop, AZ. It was a really beautiful time to be there as so many of the trees were changing color. We have a family cabin there that is always such a pleasure to visit and I love being in the outdoors this time of the year. But more importantly, we were there to meet a birth mom!
I think every emotion was running through our minds as we drove the 3.5 hours there and back. Fear, excitement, hesitation, sadness, amazement, peace, and so many more. But both of us had a supernatural peace that could only came from the Lord.
We actually found out about this meeting 2 weeks ago on the final day of our vacation. I had been praying that we would receive a phone call from our adoption case worker when we returned from our 3+ weeks of travel and we got the call the day before we came home. It was such a sweet moment because the Lord doesn't owe me anything, let alone a phone call when I request it, but He choose to give me that sweet gift. A reminder that despite all the heartbreak we've experienced again and again, He knows we are on this adoption journey and He hasn't forgotten our desire for more kids! What a wonderful God we have.
So this weekend we had the chance to meet a sweet, young, beautiful, not-so-innocent anymore, teenage girl with a baby boy growing inside her! We prayed and prayed about our meeting and all our fears, and the Lord was obviously present during our time together. We instantly fell in love with this girl and before we knew it, we had spent almost 3 hours talking and getting to know each other. She was there with her dad and it was so sweet to see the relationship that they shared with each other. (A relationship that I pray Kylie will have with her daddy when she is birth mom's age!)
So now we wait until November 20, the due date of the precious boy that could become ours. It's different this time because of our past experiences, but it's a really good different! We feel that this meeting was better than the other two we've had, and we really feel like we could have a lasting relationship with both she and her father. They both appear to be seeking the Lord and what a wonderful way to show His love to them by traveling along this life-changing journey together.
So prayerfully, I will be able to introduce you to the newest member of our family a month from now!
Enjoying every minute!

Thank you Becca for the sweet comment on my blog. I really look forward to meeting your newest addition!! Praying.
Hebrews 11:1 was the verse that encouraged me in our journey and continues to encourage me as we seek His will.
