I'm Back...

For the past few weeks I took a break from couponing & blogging all together.  I lost all motivation to find deals, clip coupons, print coupons, go to CVS, or do much else having to do with couponing.  I didn't worry about all the great deals that I missed and guess what, life went on!

Sure, I could have saved a few dollars at the grocery store or picked up a free tube of toothpaste or printed some great coupons, but I choose to not sweat the small stuff and focus on life.  We have several friends dealing with major life-changing events like 7 year Kate's battle with brain cancer, a family hoping to adopt a baby, job changes and moving cross country, and so much more so I choose to think about those things instead of bargains.

I sometimes struggle to find a balance between saving money and obsessing about the $0.25 coupon I forgot to take to the grocery store, so this time was a good reminder for me not sweat the small stuff.  The Lord has entrusted us with every dollar that we have and we desire to be good stewards of all of it, but I know He wants me to be more concerned about people & relationships than saving money.

Thanks for missing me and let's bring on the deals!

Hi Becca,
I don't know the McRae's personally but have been following Kate's battle since the start and continually pray for her family.

It's sounds like you have a lot on your plate and I totally get you when you need to take a break from the coupon world. I've been couponing the last few years and it's funny how you do obsess when you have forgotten a coupon to save $.25. I have to laugh at myself sometimes when I get upset that I forgot a coupon or know I could get a better deal somewhere else. I have to remind myself in the big picture saving $.25 is not the end of the world! I've been able to tell myself it's ok if I miss a deal and come back and forth to coupons & deal finding when time allows. Thanks for all your deal posts!
