There are lots of great things about couponing that I could talk about, but one of the best things in my opinion is the opportunity to give some of what I get away! I love that my use of coupons is something that supports not only our own family, but many others that really need it!
It's the single mom at the Sojourner Domestic Abuse Center that took her kids and left in the middle of the night with nothing and really needs a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, and shampoo.
It's the little boy or girl in Africa that opens up their Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child to find crayons, travel games, a hair brush & hair ties, socks and more that they have never had before.
It's the man starting a new life after graduation from Teen Challenge that could use toiletries.
These are all things that each of us are able to get for free using coupons. The idea of building a stockpile is buying something you know you will use when it's on sale, plus you have a coupon for it, so you get it for the absolute lowest price, oftentimes free. It will take our family years to use up 19 tubes of toothpaste or 12 bottles of mustard or 10 jars of salad dressing, but these are a few of the things you can consistently get for free thatare so needed at shelters and food banks and other places across the country!
I just learned out about an awesome new resource that is just starting out called Coupons2Give. Their desire is to help point you in the directions of where you can donate extras in your stockpile to places that need it most. They are just starting our and are trying to spread the word about Coupons2Give and are spreading the word by hosting a giveaway for (2) $25 Fry's Gift Cards!
This contest ends tonight (6/30) but all it takes is less than a minute to like them of Facebook, then leave a comment telling them you did and that The Holt House sent you. Here's hoping that one of our readers wins!
Enjoying every minute!
