Can Special Dietary Foods be Tax Deductible?

I have Crohn's Disease and at various times over the past 12 years, I have tried some very unusual diets per the doctor's instruction.  And unfortunately most of them are expensive and there are no coupons :(  So when I came across this article about tax deductions for special diet foods, I thought it was something that I had to share with you all. 

As always, check with your tax preparer to confirm the information but it's great to know that there could be a silver lining to spending tons of money on special food for health restrictions!
