Family Life Weekend to Remember

I just realized that I forgot to tell you about the amazing weekend away I had with my husband 2 weeks ago. I surprised him for our 7 year anniversary by taking him to the Family Life Weekend to Remember marriage conference here in Phoenix. I had never attended this before and honestly was a bit hesitant because I didn't want Eric to be bored. I can now say that this is one of the best things we've attended together and even better it was focused on our marriage.

Everything about the weekend seemed to be just right. The conference was held at that Wigwam Resort which was amazing. We found a great internet promotion and were able to score a food credit included with our room fee, so it made the weekend extremely affordable. The conference topics were very applicable and the information shared were topics that every couple in every stage of life could apply to their own marriage. Our speakers were extremely entertaining and we could have listened to them for more time than alotted. The conference schedule gave us time to discuss the sessions and we had mini-homework time and even a built in date night. We had a fantastic dinner on the golf course and even caught the movie "Up" in the theaters. (I can't remember the last movie we saw in the theaters, and we couldn't have chosen a better movie!)

It was an amazing weekend and we both decided that we will definitely attend next year. In fact, we're considering volunteering at a conference so we can attend another one for free!

Some more great news is that I found a way to offer all my readers a discount to attend a conference where you live. (I wish I had this discount when I signed us up.) There is a weekend coming up in Las Vegas July 10-12, and many more dates & locations in the future, but you can use this discount for any date, any place. The normal registration rate is $129 per person, but if you use the code: FamilyLifeDiscount, registration is only $89. That will save you $80 per couple. Just remember that you have to register 10 days in advance to get the discount.

Code: FamilyLifeDiscount

I hope that you get a chance to experience a weekend like this in the near future. I really needed a reminder of what my priorities are in life and keeping the big picture. With health issues, being a stay at home mom, starting the adoption process, and a 3 year old, I get so easily distracted and forget the amazing husband that the Lord blessed me with 7 years ago. It is events like these that give me the time to re-focus on what I want my life to stand for and I pray that each of you have a similar opportunity, if not this Weekend to Remember!

God bless!

Hi Becca!
My name is Emily and I work for FamilyLife. I think I have the most awesome job at the ministry: I get to read the blogs of people who write about FamilyLife or the Weekend to Remember.
I love this post! I love that you're getting the word out about the conference. Thanks so much for being proactive! Here's the cool thing--my husband and I were working at that conference you attended at the Wigwam! Who knows...I may have even talked to you that weekend! =)

Anyway, people like you make a huge difference in how many people come to the conference. You play a bigger role than you know in helping others. I want to make myself available to assist you any way I can in your ministry. Yes, getting your friends to a conference is a huge ministry! I'll be following your blog, and I look forward to getting to know you through the wonderful thing called the blogosphere (at least that's what my hubs calls it...ha ha!). I hope you have a wonderful day.
