Trial Size Freebies

I was recently at Pinching Your Pennies and came across a great list that I thought I would share with you. One way to make the most of your weekly coupons is by using them for trial size items to get them for free. Unless the coupon specifically says "not good on trial size" or something to that effect, you should be able to use it on any size, color, flavor, etc of that product. Sometimes, you may run into problems if the item you are purchasing is selling for less than the value of the coupon, so know it's possible to have issues at the checkout. Example: Issues may arise when using the Suave lotion coupon $1/1 and the item sells for $0.97. It's my understanding that legally this can be considered fraud for the store to accept the coupon unless they adjust it down for the actual sales price and not all associates are willing to do this. Target and Wal-mart seem to be the main culprits, but in my experience it tends to happen when you have 10 identical coupons for the same item and nothing else. I think it's best to have a few filler items in your cart and they are more likely to accommodate your request to adjust the coupon amount!

This is a list of the items that most commonly have $1 off coupons in the inserts, so these are not matched up with current coupons. Please check the weekly grocery store lists for the most updated matches. These items are great for not only traveling, but also gift baskets (think wedding/baby showers) and even better for overseas gifts for troops at the holidays. Homeless shelters also love these small size donations to hand out. Lastly, most drugstores also have trial size sections that aren't as large as Walmart or Target, but I'll try to get a list for CVS & Walgreens in the future.
