One of the most common questions I get is how do I decipher all those initials related to couponing. I'll tell you that it takes just a bit of learning, and the more you see the abbreviations, the more familiar you'll become with them!
Here is a list that I've come up with the most common terms, but I am sure I've left some off. Please leave a comment with your question and I'll be sure to add it to the list!
RP = Red Plum insert - Sunday paper
SS = Smart Source insert - Sunday paper
P&G = Proctor & Gamble insert - Sunday paper
IP = Internet Printable coupon
MIR = Mail In Rebate
FAR = Free After Rebate
OOP = Out of Pocket
BOGO = Buy One Get One Free
CS = Customer Service
Overage = difference between what an item costs and the profit you make after coupons
YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (stores have different policies/prices/availability)
Catalinas= white coupons that print at the grocery store along with your receipt
Stacking= pairing a manufacture coupon along with a store specific coupon
WYB= When you Buy
CVS Specific Terms
ECB= Extra Care Bucks - the "free" money that comes when you purchase a qualifying item
ECC= Extra Care Coupon (prints from the register after your purchase is complete)
Walgreens Specific Terms
RR= Register Rewards at Walgreens
MQ= Manufacturer Coupon
ICV= Instant Value Coupon (found in Walgreens EasySaver Catalog)
